A drama set up in the lovely and simple site of Mississippi at the time of around 1960s. Skeeter (Stone), a southern society girl has just returned from her college to do some fresh work and what she choose is to take the interview of a black women on of those who take care of prominent southern families till whole of their life. The first one she starts is Aibileen (Davis), who is a housekeeper in her friend's house and the perfect one for the beginning as she knows probably all about her black community and doesn't even hesitate to tell it. Slowly as the interview gets appreciated by all then many other woman comes forward to tell their stories. And this leads to the development of unlikely friendship and a new sisterhood.
