The Way Back is a dramatic movie. The story of the movie is based on several different sources but largely on Slavomir Rawicz book – “The Long Walk: The True Story Of a Trek To Freedom”. In this book Rawicz revealed that how was his 4000 mile walking journey to freedom after he reached India. This movie is made on a fact based story that revolves around a group of soldiers who escaped for freedom from the Siberian gulag in 1940. Their escape was just the beginning. These group of soldiers traveled the Siberian arctic, the Gobi desert and the Himalayas and finally got settlement in Tibet and India. The soldiers escaped the Red Army rule in 1939 and walked to gain freedom. The whole group travelled on their foot to get freedom after their escape.
